Habits

habits

Habit are created with actions. You can create new habits if you start to do it every day.

Choose wisely, habits can be a blessing or a curse.

“Winners have simply formed the habit of doing things losers don’t like to do.”

Albert Gray

You can change your bad habits. Choose one thing and start to work on it.

Don’t look around for what is good for you. You know deep inside what you need to do. Stop wasting your time and do what you need to do.

“Winning is not a sometime thing, it is an all the time thing. You don’t do things right once in a while…you do them right all the time.”

Vince Lombardi

Winners don’t spend their times, they invest their times.

Respect your time and others will do the same.

Daily post

dailypost

A lot of blogger are posting daily. Some even post more than once a day.

Should you post daily?

Let’s talk about this.

  • What is the main subject of your blog? If your blog is about something that can change daily, you could post daily. As an example: sport blog, Stardom blog, politic blog, shopping blog and so on. But if your blog is more about personal growth than you could limit your post to a few times a week. Remember that content is king. If you don’t have anything to post, don’t post.
  • How many people do you have visiting your blog? If you start your blog, you should take the time to choose your subject and then start to post according to that subject. Its way better to post once a week a very good post then to post 7 ones that are bad. The more people you have on your blog, the more you’ll feel the pressure to post daily.
  • Do you have a lot of bad days? A bad day is a day where you just can’t find the energy to create a new post. If you have a lot of bad days, than you should write as much as you can during your good ones and put the extra post on the side for the bad days. Doing so will help you keep a steady 3 to 4 post per week. It is very hard to post good stuff daily.
  • If you don’t see how you could post 3 times a week, than you should not stress about posting daily.

Posting daily is for the expert. If you don’t have the experience to do so, then you should start with 3 post per week.

It could be a goal for you to find the energy and inspiration to post daily.

The quest

quest

Warrior business mind

Look at your business as a quest to accomplish. You have to fight your way into making that business work. In some way, it’s like a warrior quest. The fighting is done with computer, but the will is the most important part of your character. Even with the best tool, if you don’t have the will to make it, you won’t make it.

A warrior has to face the problems and put them down. So the quest can go on. Instead of killing the enemy, you kill the competition with your better product, advertising and marketing.

A warrior will get up when he get strike down. He has to stand in front of destiny until he win.

A warrior never give up, he always go on to accomplish the quest.

Not every warrior will be among the best. The best will only be the ones who are doing what needs to be done more often than all others.

“There are two types of people who will tell you that you cannot make a difference in this world: those who are afraid to try and those who are afraid you will succeed.”

Ray Goforth

There’s no easy way to accomplish the quest.

Nothing to lose

nothingtolose

Beware of people that have nothing to lose when they give you an advice. If you take those advice without asking yourself if they are good or not, then you can find yourself in trouble.

“Men are often biased in their judgment on account of their sympathy and their interests.”

George William Norris

When the advice will not put them in peril, they will give you the first things that come up on their mind. With average source, you will never get more than average results.

People that have some kind of interest in your success, they will take the time to think about their advice to you. They have something to lose if you fail.

You can still find some really good people that will give you the best advice without any way of getting anything back from your success, but those people are sadly hard to find.

In the end, you are in charge of your success. Good or bad advice will not be the only factor.

Learning and Doing

learningdoing

Learning is great. But doing is always better.

“You don’t learn to walk by following rules. You learn by doing, and by falling over.”

Richard Branson

We all need to start up with the learning. Some will learn fast and some will be slower. It doesn’t matter, because it’s what they do with what they learned that will make an impact. In the end, the doers will always take the lead on the outside learner. Learning from the experience of other is great, but it won’t never as great as learning from your own experiences.

The more you’ll do and the more you’ll develop your special alarm senses. Yes, that special senses that will tell you if one thing is better than the other. That special senses cannot come from the experience of others, you have to build it on your own.

About that special sense, I have a story to tell you. My wife was working as a dispatch for a security alarm company. On that night, she was working as usual and doing her job. You have to understand that 98% of the alarm are false. So, to have a positive alarm is really rare. They were taking care of many thousands of alarm in an 8hrs shift. Among all those alarms, she got one alarm for a fire detection in a snack bar. She sent the fire department and went on with the other alarms. The fire department came back and report that there was no fire in there. She felt that something was wrong. She got a few more alarm from that place and she got that feeling that something was wrong. So she called back the fire department and told them that she kept getting an alarm and something was strange with that alarm coming back again and again. So the fireman got back to the snack bar and did some other test. They tested the place for gas and found out that there was a leak in there. It was a major leak. If it would have blown, the whole village would have exploded. In some way, she followed her feeling and saved many people. The feeling was good because she understood how the alarm where working and she had experience on the job. If this would have happen in her first week, there’s a good reason to think that she would not have push it further after the first check up from the fire department.

We all need to start up with some learning. Those who don’t take the time to learn the basics first will have to get it the hard way doing it. The problem with learning is there’s a lot of people that can’t take the next step into doing. You’ll have to find your edge in this. Some will need a lot of time and some a lot less. It’s ok to take the time you need. Because, in the end the ones who are doing and keep on doing will be the one to succeed.

Between learning and doing, doing is the best. But you need to keep on doing. Most doers who are quitting do it because they don’t have what is needed to keep going. They don’t know what they should do and they don’t know how they can find that information. And this could be helped with learning. You should keep on learning as you are doing. It will help you face the problem you’ll get on the way to reaching for your goal.

Learning the basics is like building a strong basement for your project. It will not assure you of success, but it’s a good way to start.

“There is no end to education. It is not that you read a book, pass an examination, and finish with education. The whole of life, from the moment you are born to the moment you die, is a process of learning.”

Jiddu Krishnamurti

There’s no end to learning, even if you think you don’t have anything more to learn, you’ll learn anyway.

“The brighter you are, the more you have to learn.”

– Don Herold

Some very intelligent people think they know enough. That’s one more thing they’ll have to learn, that they have to keep on learning to the level of their capacity. You should always surpass yourself.

Success Anchor

successanchor

Anchor your success in time and space.

When you reach a point of success, take the time to celebrate it. Take the time to anchor it with something special.

It can be a picture that you put on your wall. I can be a little something that will remind you of that moment. I can be a nice moment with your family to celebrate this success. It can be anything you want, as long as you create memories that you can come back to when you are in a difficult moment.

The anchor will help you remember the good times. It will help you keeping the faith that things can be better and that you can do great things.

As you go along, you’ll anchor more and more success. Doing so will give you lots of great things to go back to.

See the anchor as a diploma or a trophy. You set the level to achieve and the goal to reach.

“Celebrate your successes. Find some humor in your failures.”

Sam Walton

Your path

yourpath

People will doubt the path they are on even if it’s a sure path.

On a high way between two cities, you don’t need to know much more then how much time it will take.

You enter the high way in a city and you know that you will get to the other city.

Even if the road is simple, there’s people that will doubt and stop many times to verify if they are on the right path to reach the other city. Doing so, they extend the trip and turn it into a difficult one.

Start to believe and take action in the right direction.

Build great blog

buildgreatblog

Do you want to start a blog?

If so, do you know where to start? What you should do?

I’m not the first one to talk about this subject and I will not be the last.

Here, I just want to share some great tips on how to start a blog.

The first thing you should know, is your “WHY”.

Why do you want to start a blog? This seems very simple, but it can become very complicated if you start with a lie.

Whatever your reason, it’s all up to you.

Let’s clear something first. If your first reason to write a blog is to “Earn” a living online, then I should tell you something. There’s no guaranty that you’ll earn a living with your blog. Even if you are someone with a lot of creativity, there’s no guaranty that you’ll earn anything with your blog.

Second, let’s clear a little common idea. A lot of the “How to earn with your blog guide” will tell you that you “need” to have your own domain and web site. Me, I’ll tell you that before you invest any money, start to invest time into writing for your blog.

What do I mean with start writing before you get your blog? You need to write your post “off line” first. Most new blogger will start to write on their blog directly online. Bang! If you don’t care much about the quality of your post, it’s OK to do it like that. But if you want to do a good job, then you should take the time to write your post before publishing them online.

“The first draft of anything is shit.”

Ernest Hemingway

A good advice. Write your post with a text editor. Rewrite them again and again until they are as good as you can make them. Then write another one and another one. Don’t start posting them online until you have at least 5 offline post ready.

Those posts will be your buffer. One of the key to have a successful blog is posting regularly. Having a buffer will bring you something to post on the bad days when you just don’t have the inspiration. You can still post even if you didn’t wrote anything on that day.

If you found out that you can’t write those 5 posts, then you found out that you should not start a blog. And if you can find it out before you buy a domain and a web site, you can put that money on something else. Blogging is not for everyone.

Let’s talk about the “On the spot” blog post. There’s very few blogger that can write a post on the spot and publish it as is. Most people that try to do that are publishing stuff that aren’t very good and some could even be seen as a waste of time.

Now, let’s talk about how often you should post. Some people are posting daily and some are posting monthly. To be honest, it’s all up to you. Me, I did posted daily when I started. It was really hard to keep the quality up. In that time, I did post some very bad text. Now, I post every 3 to 5 days. This means less than 10 posts a month.

Earlier, I was talking about the time. This is what you really need to focus on. Because it’s the first things that you need to know. If you can’t spend a lot of time on your blog, then it will influence the quality and the number of post that you will put on it.

Then, you’ll have to choose where you want to have your blog. There’s a lot of free blog host online. You can choose to start with one of them. But, as I told you before, you should keep a backup of everything that you wrote on a physical disk. If the host has a problem and delete your blog, you’ll still have your post and could find another place to set it up again. If you want to earn an income with your blog, you should look at getting your own domain and host.

Another way to earn with your blog, is to use your post to create a book. Even with a free blog, you have the ownership of your post and can use them to make a book.

The last thing I would like to say: “If you write your post with a smile, there’s a good chance that you are a blogger.”
