Blogging for real

by Serge ‘Mage’ cote

Blogging is something that is a lot like writing a book (for most people). When you start, you just do it in your free time. Then, you start to get some feedback from people and you find out that it could maybe become something more.

Then you have to choose to do it for real or keep it only a side project.

When you choose to make it a priority, it has to be for the good reason. Feedback, good or bad, will not drive you to write more. It’s only a way to know if there’s some people really reading what you post.

Good reason are all about deep and profound ideal that you want to share. You need to write something that you will be happy for doing so in 10 years.

Too many people think that they will become rich with a blog. The sad reality is that it’s only a very few bloguer that are making enough to live with their blog. And among those, only a very few are making it to the top.

No one can say where your blog will end up. It’s all up to you to keep writing even if you don’t get the result you want.

About Serge ‘Mage’ Cote Why do I write? I believe in the butterfly effect. As small my influence may be on the planet, it is still influence. I want to orient it for the better. I write my book with the idea of bringing something good into this world. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke I want my books to be a good place to be. A place that you visit often and feel good about it. I want my books to bring good energy so the readers will take action to make this world a better place. I want my books to guide those who don’t know why they feel so bad about their life. I want my books to be there after I’ll be gone. I want people to come back to them and use them in a positive way. “The greatest use of a life is to spend it on something that will outlast it.” – William James

  1. The apostle Paul wrote, in I Corinthians 11:31, “Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” And so, I eat, I drink and I blog to the glory of God.

  2. Whenever I write something it comes from my heart. It does not make any difference to me whether anyone reads it or likes it or comment on it. I write because I always have. This is not new to me. I will be successful in everything I do. I don’t need approval from others. I love writing all kinds of literature. Check out my poetry. I will always write because I am a writer. There is more to what I write than meets the eye. Yes, there are some successful bloggers, but don’t discourage those that have not gotten there yet. Lift people up, don’t tear them down. Don’t compare people. Who knows where a person is going to go in their lives with their writing. Everyone has to start somewhere. I do not write to please people. I write because that is just who I am. Things sometimes start out as a hobby but then turns into something else. That is how people discover what their talents and gifts are. It is how they discover who they are and what their calling un life is. Watch what you say because you never know who your words may hurt or encourage even if you never intentionally meant to hurt or discourage anyone. Choose your words wisely.
