Leader leading team

leaderleading

A good word…

People want to know they’re doing well. What ever you find that is good, say so. And even better would be to do it publicly.

“No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit for doing it.”

 – Andrew Carnegie

Pick the leader among those who choose to follow you. Offer them the chance to take some leadership among the team. When you offer, it’s the first test you get them to take. If they take it, then maybe they have what is needed to become a leader in your team and if they don’t then maybe they still have some work to be done on them.

Do what needs to be done. But always offer your team to do some of it first. The more you’ll give them the opportunity to do, the more they’ll take from your shoulder. Support what is done and celebrate every success they’ll get.

“Leaders must be close enough to relate to others, but far enough ahead to motivate them.”

 – John C. Maxwell

You don’t have to always be the top, but you need to be among the top. Leaders have to do what needs to be done if they want their team to do the same.

Motivating by example is the most powerful way to do it.

“Leadership is practiced not so much in words as in attitude and in actions.”

 – Harold S. Geneen

Your attitude will become the attitude of your team. Your action will become the action of your team. Don’t expect something different.

“People buy into the leader before they buy into the vision.”

 – John C. Maxwell

A leader without a vision will not go far and will not get a lot of people to follow. The vision will drive the leader before it can drive the team.

About Serge ‘Mage’ Cote Why do I write? I believe in the butterfly effect. As small my influence may be on the planet, it is still influence. I want to orient it for the better. I write my book with the idea of bringing something good into this world. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” – Edmund Burke I want my books to be a good place to be. A place that you visit often and feel good about it. I want my books to bring good energy so the readers will take action to make this world a better place. I want my books to guide those who don’t know why they feel so bad about their life. I want my books to be there after I’ll be gone. I want people to come back to them and use them in a positive way. “The greatest use of a life is to spend it on something that will outlast it.” – William James
